  • The Federal Council wants more women in the top management bodies of companies related to the federal government.
  • 40 per cent of senior management positions at SBB, Correos and comparable companies will now be held by women. The current rate is 20 percent.
  • By the end of 2023, companies should reach a 40 percent share.

Affiliated SOEs are required to comment on deviations from this value when electing a new board member. With the Federal Council’s decision, the requirements are higher than for listed companies, for which a 30 percent target applies.

Updated representation of language communities

The Federal Council has also adjusted the guidelines for representing language communities. Today’s guidelines are based on the 2010 census and are out of date.

The benchmarks for German are now 62.2 percent instead of 65.5 percent and for French they are 22.9 percent instead of 22.8 percent, thus slightly lowered. Those of the Italian increased slightly by 8.4 percent instead of 8 percent and those of the Romansh by 0.6 percent instead of 0.5 percent.
