On Monday, cantonal health directors will meet with federal councilor Alain Berset to decide on new corona measures. This was done to prevent hospitals from being overloaded. GDK president Lukas Engelberger expressed his concern to Tamedia: “We can no longer answer for that.”
It is not clear if they will soon close all shops and restaurants in Switzerland, such as in neighboring Germany. Engelberger did not want to anticipate meeting with Federal Councilor Berset on Monday. But it is already “pretty clear” in which direction it will go.

Therefore, Engelberger emphasizes that it is now important that Switzerland does not exert pressure if public life in the neighborhood is closed. Engelberger told Tamedia that the discrepancy between the measures and the number of cases and the gap with neighboring Swiss countries is becoming too large.
