- The Swiss U21 team also wins their seventh qualifying match for the European Championship in Georgia.
- Goals for Lustrinelli’s team are scored by Dan Ndoye, Andi Zeqiri and Petar Pusic.
- Both teams have to complain about a crossbar each.
The victory for the technically stronger Swiss Under-21 team was deserved. After a somewhat unfocused start, Mauro Lustrinelli’s selection dominated the fourth place in the table.
Matchwinner Ndoye
Dan Ndoye scored the reassuring 1-0 in the 27th minute. The Nice actor was played centrally by the conspicuous Bastien Toma and scored a score worth watching.
The victory was only achieved in the last quarter of the game. Andi Zeqiri converted a hand penalty provoked by Ndoye (69th), Joker Petar Pusic scored from about 14 meters to the final score. Toni Domgjoni hit the bar early on.
Gulyashvili fails twice
The Georgians had two chances to get on the scoreboard: Vato Arweladze hit the crossbar with a free kick in the 15th minute, Giorgi Gulyashvili put the rebound off the post. In the second half Gulyashvili was stopped by the impeccable Anthony Racioppi in the Swiss goal.
So it goes
On Tuesday, Switzerland will face the bottom of the Liechtenstein table in Biel. If there were another victory, the first qualification for a final round since 2011 could already be signed. In addition to the nine group winners, the top five group runners-up also qualify directly for the European Championship.
