Düsseldorf Airport: throwing expensive paintings in the trash

An entrepreneur is unlikely to make this mistake a second time. His painting, which cost 300,000 francs, was almost destroyed. The businessman flew from Düsseldorf Airport (D) to Tel Aviv on November 27. The problem: when registering, the entrepreneur forgot a flat cardboard box. Inside: a painting by the surrealist Yves Tanguy (1900-1955). The mass: about 40 by 60 centimeters.

Only when he arrived in Israel did the art lover realize his fatal mistake. He tried to locate the painting but was unsuccessful. Then he turned against his nephew who lives in Belgium. Despite all the questions, the painting never disappeared. Eventually the nephew drove to Düsseldorf airport and reported the loss to the police.
