Dieter Bohlen provides a slippery saying for the foreign moment of shame in “DSDS”
By now it should be known that not all “DSDS” candidates have been blessed with a great voice. Because the casting show isn’t just about singing, it’s mostly about entertainment. And Dieter Bohlen in particular took care of that Saturday night. The jury-in-chief wanted to embarrass her colleague Maite Kelly with an elusive saying.
When candidate Julette Nkometa appeared before the jury, expectations were high. The self-confident care aide from Düsseldorf dared to try “Ain’t Too Proud To Beg” by The Temptations, but the jury couldn’t inspire her. Maite also immediately recognized what the error was: “Yeah, it’s a shame, I really don’t care about vibrato. I have incredible vibrato myself, but that was another dimension. “
Dieter Bohlen tries to embarrass Maite Kelly
Bohlen simply couldn’t pass up this steep advance. As if he did not know what Maite was referring to, he asked:
Only Maite, she was on the line and just said yes completely serious. “At home?” Bohlen added. The jury responded to the question with a short vocal interlude and thus provided Dieter Bohlen with feigned knowledge: “Achsoo,” he replied.
No possibility of “DSDS” candidate
Had he really not understood the elusive comment from the head judge? Mike Singer, at least, seemed to have understood, looked at his colleagues, quite embarrassed.
Or maybe Maite just didn’t feel like getting into Bohlen’s joke. At least his reaction was professional above all else. Then he handled the candidate with the same professionalism. You would have to practice for a long time with your vibrato.
Mike Singer was less diplomatic. Singing isn’t his thing, he told her immediately. For Julette, the “DSDS” journey was over again.
