During the night from Friday to Saturday, the Bözberg tunnel was operated with only one lane and traffic in both directions for maintenance work, as announced by the Aargau canton police on Saturday. The reason: shortly after 1:00 am, a 63-year-old Briton from the canton of Zurich drove his Porsche into the closed passing lane; he was about to perform an overtaking maneuver. At that time he was greeted by a 19-year-old Mercedes driver who was driving properly.
Thanks to the immediate reaction and an evasive maneuver of the 19-year-old, a head-on collision was avoided. However, there was a “head-on collision” between the two vehicles and the 19-year-old was slightly injured.
Major property damage

The tunnel had to be closed for about an hour due to investigation and rescue work. In the case of the person who caused the accident, the influence of alcohol could be determined, as they say. The canton police clarify the course of the accident. The driver’s license was provisionally withdrawn from the British for the attention of the Road Traffic Office.
