Parents’ nightmare is kidnapping their own child. While most are saved, it becomes an almost dire reality for a Melbourne parent.
On November 25, 2019, Michael Paul Rawson (41) tried in Melbourne (Australia) to snatch his son (2) from a father. A video shows the terrible kidnapping.
Kidnapping in broad daylight
The video shows Rawson getting out of a taxi after being released on bail by a police station. A father is in a nearby park with his son and the family dog. Suddenly Rawson rushes in and tries by force to snatch his son from the unsuspecting father. After the father begins to fight back, there is a fight. A passerby rushes to help.
In the end, Rawson and the father fall to the ground. But this doesn’t stop Rawson. He throws himself on the father and tries with all his might to usurp the child. Even the intervention of the passerby, trying to distance Rawso from the father and his son, does not help.
The escape attempt with the child is successful
The father is finally stunned after receiving several blows to the back of the neck. Rawson takes this opportunity to grab the son and run away with him.
A group of passersby can stop Rawson and snatch the boy from him. The child is traumatized, the father has his way. As passersby continue to fight Rawson, the father next door watches over his son.
Drug cocktail delusions
According to “Mail Online”, Rawson later fled, but was caught by police when he was hiding in a garden. After Rawson is taken to a hospital, he is noticed again: he wants to run out of bed screaming. He becomes palpable towards a supervisor and must be tied to the bed from now on.
The Victoria County Court hears that Rawson is cheating himself. These were triggered by a cocktail of drugs. Delusions are to blame for Rawson seeing his daughter in the kidnapped boy.
Rawson pleads guilty to kidnapping, assault, reckless injury, resisting arrest, and assaulting an emergency officer. The court ruling will be approved next Tuesday. (my I)
