Almost a year after the art theft in the Dresden Green Vault, German police arrested three suspects on Tuesday morning in Berlin. These will be presented to the investigating judge during the day, as announced by the Dresden (Saxony) prosecutor’s office.

Since the morning, a total of 18 properties have been registered in the capital, among which are ten apartments as well as garages and vehicles. According to the authorities, there are almost 1,640 police officers on duty. The focus of the measures would be the search for stolen art treasures and possible evidence, such as storage media, clothing and tools.

In one of the most spectacular robberies in decades, strangers stole art treasures of barely measurable value from the famous Green Vault treasure chamber in Dresden in November 2019. (aeg / sda / dpa)
