Arsenal took a step out of the crisis against Chelsea, the city’s rival. Granit Xhaka played her role.
It was 45 minutes at Emirates Stadium when Arsenal’s Granit Xhaka launched a free kick after a foul on Bukayo Saka. Nati-Captainz, who was last suspended for 3 games, ran three steps and circled the ball 2: 0 on the upper right crossbar. Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy had no chance.
Xhaka doubled Alexandre Lacazette’s penalty lead. And after Sakas 3-0 (as in 1-0, Xhaka was indirectly involved) in the 56th minute, the decision seemed already made.
Dramatic final phase
However, it was exciting again in the end. Tammy Abraham scored 1: 3 from Chelsea’s point of view in the 85th minute and the “Blues” were awarded a penalty in the 90th minute. But Jorghinho missed out on Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno. The “Gunners” survived the 5 minute stoppage despite a chance from Pulisic.
This puts Arsenal 6 points ahead of the relegation ranks. Chelsea missed the jump to second place.
Leicester versus Man United with morale
Leicester City continues to do this. The “Foxes” fought Manchester United 2-2 in the chase match from one point despite being twice behind.
And so it happened:
- In a balanced first half, Harvey Barnes (31st) drew 1-0 behind Marcus Rashfords (23rd). The coup was preceded by a stumble from Manchester defense chief Harry Maguire and a pathetic tunnel attempt by Bruno Fernandes.
- United came into the game better after the break and substitute Edinson Cavani appeared to have a decisive influence on the game. He served Bruno Fernandes (79th), who scored his 10th goal of the season.
- However, shortly before the end, Jamie Vardy (85th) saved the tie for Leicester with his 12th goal of the season.
