On Sunday, a motorcyclist collided with a railing in Sils iE and fell into Lake Silvaplana. With the help of third parties, it could be recovered from the lake.
The 75-year-old motorcyclist drove just before 2:00 pm yesterday on Malojastrasse H3 from Sils iE in the direction of Silvaplana. On a left-hand bend, he collided with the railing on the right side and fell into Lake Silvaplana.
Third parties alerted the rescuers. With the help of several bystanders, the police recovered the seriously injured but still responding man from the lake and began resuscitation.
A team of ambulances from the Upper Engadine Rescue and a team from Rega implemented more emergency medical measures for the injured. However, she succumbed to her serious injuries on the spot.
Together with the prosecution, the Graubünden Cantonal Police determine the exact course of the accident.
