A woman was shot in Bolligen at Christmas; she succumbed to her injuries in the hospital. The alleged perpetrator, allegedly her boyfriend, is in custody.
On Friday, shortly after 2 pm, the Bern canton police received a report that a man had shot a woman in Bolligen. In an apartment on Hühnerbühlstrasse, emergency services met a woman seriously wounded with a gunshot wound. She was taken to the hospital in critical condition, where she died at night. There are indications of the identity of the deceased, but formal identification is still pending.
The victim is said to be a 38-year-old single mother, as “20 minutes” reported. His teenage daughter was said to be in the apartment at the time of the crime and “ran up the stairs screaming,” a neighbor said.
The emergency services were able to pick up the alleged perpetrator at the scene. According to eyewitnesses, the man resisted violently and repeatedly asked if the woman was dead. According to the cantonal police, the 34-year-old Swiss was taken to a police station for further clarification and is now in custody.
A neighbor told “20 Minuten” that the detained person was a friend of the deceased who moved in with her about a year ago. A Kapo spokeswoman only confirms that the victim and the suspect knew each other. More research is underway.
