One man, two goals: Lucas da Cunha put the stamp on the game at the Stade de la Tuilière. In the first half, the only 19-year-old forward paved the way for his team to claim their 10th win of the season with two outstanding actions.
- 32. Minute: Da Cunha throws the ball from about 23 meters and simply takes it out. His bullet hits the far corner of the door. Lucerne goalkeeper Marius Müller can’t do anything.
- 40. Minute: Da Cunha threw the spirited Toichi Suzuki out of the penalty area. The Japanese rushes through the Lucerne defense and serves Da Cunha in the middle, who only has to push.
Until then, Lucerne had had more parties. However, the well-presented attacks were left inconclusive. Or because the Lausanne rear defended jointly and with the necessary severity; or because the guests lacked precision in the last pass.
Lausanne ranks second
In the 71st minute it finally worked: Ibrahima Ndiaye nodded with a completely free cross from close range to Lausanne’s goal. However, this subsequent blow did not trigger a real final offensive. And so the 3 points remain in Vaud.
With the victory, Lausanne-Sport temporarily climbed to second place (37 points). Servette (37), Lugano (36) and Basel (36) could move again in the coming days. With its 32 counters, Lucerne has to orient itself a bit backwards.
So it goes
Lausanne will visit FC Lugano in a week (Saturday, 6.15pm). The FCL receives Basel on Saturday (8:30 pm).
