Dominique Aegerter or the final humiliation of Tom Lüthi
Dominique Aegerter will drive the last race of the Moto2 season at the Portuguese GP on Sunday. Are you ahead of Tom Lüthi?
Jarno Janssen had signed Piotr Biesiekirski (18), the driver behind him, to replace Jesko Raffin (24) for the last seven races. The completely overwhelmed Pole never made the “Top20”. Janssen actually would have preferred Dominique Aegerter, but Piotr Biesiekirski paid a lot of money for the place. And whoever pays, drives. But now it has become a scandal. The NTS team boss put Piotr Biesiekirski in front of the gate and got Dominique Aegerter (30) for the last race.
Dominique Aegerter had already replaced Jesko Raffin three times at Jarno Janssen prior to Piotr Biesiekirski’s engagement and scored once in the process. This leads to an explosive situation in the last race: will Dominique Aegerter be ahead of Tom Lüthi (34) on Sunday? It would be the final humiliation of the Emmentaler in a completely bad season.
Either way, Dominique Aegerter would have traveled to Portimao in the Portuguese Algarve for the season finale on Thursday. Because the MotoE World Cup awards ceremony takes place there as part of the last GP of the season. The Rohrbacher finished the competition with the battery powered motorcycles in third place. Now, in addition to this honor, you really have to try.
The chances of Dominique Aegerter qualifying for the NTS in the final race of the season ahead of the unstable Tom Lüthi (in the last two races only 19th and 16th) are around 70:30.

For next season, the renewed use is planned in this Battery Motorcycle World Championship. If there are no scheduled collisions with the MotoE World Cup, Dominique Aegerter will also contest the Supersport World Cup for Yamaha next season. It is the second most important racing series in the superbike scene. Expect a final decision in about ten days.
