How will Trump’s statements be valued? They shouldn’t be taken lightly, says someone who knows the president better than almost anyone. We are talking about Michael Cohen, who served as Trump’s attorney for years and was considered his right-hand man for a long time. Trump tasked Cohen, for example, with paying porn actress Stormy Daniels money to keep her from telling about the extramarital affair.
In 2018, Cohen was finally convicted and has been on a personal campaign of revenge against the president ever since. The deeply fallen lawyer wrote a book in which he harshly incriminated the president.
Therefore, Cohen’s allegations should be treated with a degree of caution. The statements he made recently to CNN still make one feel and realize.
“Trump is not joking,” Cohen said. When you say you want to stay in the White House for twelve years, you mean it. “He has no sense of humor.” Trump believes that he should be the dictator of the United States. “If he wins the election, the first day after he will think about how he can change the constitution for a third term and then a fourth.”

Can Trump run for the third time?
Even if Trump dreams of many more years in the White House, the Constitution of the United States prohibits it. The 22nd Amendment, which was ratified in 1951 after Franklin D. Roosevelt’s fourth term, says: “No one can be elected president more than twice.”
The obstacles to changing this are very high. Trump would need a two-thirds majority in both the Senate and the House of Representatives. Or a constitutional convention would have to be called, where two-thirds of the states would have to give their approval to the constitutional amendment.
Bottom line: as crazy as Democrats and Republicans are right now, such majorities will not occur.
And yet Trump made no secret of his admiration for autocratic rulers in his first term. There were constant words of praise from the White House for Putin, Erdogan, Kim Jong Un and company. Democratically elected heads of state such as Angela Merkel or Justin Trudeau, on the other hand, faced Trump with rather obvious hostility.

In the past four years, the United States has turned increasingly toward the banana republic. The separation of powers is unstable. Trump pardoned convicted criminals, installed an obedient attorney general, and relentlessly attacked the media. If the president undermines the constitution over the next four years at the same rate as before, it cannot be completely ruled out that Donald Trump will remain in the Oval Office until 2028.
If that doesn’t work, Trump supporters are already flirting with Ivanka Trump or Donald Trump Jr.
But first of all, American voters will have a choice on November 3 as to whether Donald Trump should get a second term. Polls currently predict that Joe Biden will win.
