At school, in the family, at work – these are the places where people in Graubünden are most infected with the coronavirus, as the government announced at Tuesday’s press meeting. Health Director Peter Peyer also emphasized that infections can no longer be traced on individual occasions, but can be observed across the board. “We have a permanent increase and we can no longer determine the reasons for the infection everywhere.”
There are currently 653 people in quarantine, 154 in isolation and three people in hospital, including one in the intensive care unit. This means that the critical threshold has been reached, Peyer continues. These values are defined according to the corresponding concept for second wave contingency planning.
Possible measures have already been discussed in the governing council and with interested departments, as Peyer said. “We have to decide what measures can cover all areas of life.” The government does not want to communicate what this looks like until Friday.
On the edge of contact tracing
Last Thursday, the Graubünden contact trackers were no longer able to reach all reported cases. That’s why more people were called as quickly as possible, says Peyer. Since yesterday the civil defense has returned to action. “We can continue to track contacts at this level if we have the necessary human resources.”
