14 young people were injured in a lightning strike in Abtwil (SG) on Tuesday night.
The accident occurred on a sports field. The youths had participated in a soccer game there.
Rega flew a young man to the hospital, and 13 other young men were also taken to the hospital for check-ups.
Lightning struck a lighting pole at 8:40 pm during a match between FC Abtwil’s B-Juniors and FC Münsterlingen, as Hanspeter Krüsi, spokesman for the St. Gallen cantonal police, said.
