Last week the first ski areas opened the season. This is also the case for Glacier 3000. As its name suggests, the area benefits from the slopes of glaciers at an altitude of 3000 meters. But now the first glacier-free ski area begins.
The Diavolezza ski resort opens its season in the Upper Engadine. This is possible thanks to the so-called snow cultivation. “In spring we cover the last bits of snow with fleece to prevent it from melting. That way we can save water and start the season earlier ”, read a message.
Ready for winter
Now the tracks are ready and Diavolezza is open. Until the main season begins on December 23, trains run on weekends and Wednesday afternoons. During the week, the Swiss national ski team trains in Diavolezza.
To ensure the safety of the national team and all other guests, it is mandatory to wear a mask on the Corvatsch and Diavolezza gondolas. The masks can also be purchased at the hill station. The gondolas are periodically disinfected.
Personal responsibility is just as important
You don’t just want to be prepared in the gondola, but in restaurants as well. The service and the seats are adapted to the distance rules.
In addition, companies clean regularly. “In addition, we appeal to the personal responsibility and solidarity of our guests”, emphasizes Markus Moser, CEO of Diavolezza Lagalp AG.
