Twitter announced that the tweet with the news of the death of American actor Chadwick Boseman received more than 5.7 million likes.
With his leading role as the king’s son, T’Challa, in the superhero movie “Black Panther,” he became world famous and a figure that identifies black America. On Friday, American actor Chadwick Boseman died of cancer at age 43, his family announced Friday night “with immeasurable sadness.”
He did so with a tweet on Chadwick Boseman’s official Twitter account. This short message became the most liked tweet of all time, as Twitter now announces:
“The most popular tweet of all time, a tribute to a king,” wrote the short message service.
A black and white photo of the actor is featured in Boseman’s tweet. A statement said the 43-year-old lost his battle with colon cancer after four years. The tweet went viral and is now at the top of Twitter with only 5.7 million likes.
4.3 million likes for Obama
This tweet is followed by a short message from former US President Barack Obama from 2017 with a quote from Nelson Mandela. This tweet received 4.3 million messages.
