“Landmark Decision”: Biden Wants to Appoint Native Woman Minister for the First Time
US President-elect Joe Biden wants according to media reports for the first time in American history He appointed an American Indian woman to serve as a cabinet minister.
Biden wants to nominate New Mexico State Congresswoman Deb Haaland (60) as Home Secretary, the Washington Post, New York Times and CNN reported Thursday (local time). If Haaland, who belongs to the Pueblo of Laguna tribe, was confirmed by the Senate, the United States would have a Native American as minister for the first time.
