Dead woman from Egnach forest: home suspect is an amateur +++ victim probably killed in her own home +++ prosecution is looking for drivers
Police apparently assume that the 62-year-old Swiss woman was killed at her home in Bottighofen and only later was she taken to the forest near Egnach. Your landlady is in custody.
Police are still searching for the driver who drove the suspect from the Vitaparcours car park in Scherzingen to Bottighofen on October 29. It is exactly the day the murdered 62-year-old Swiss woman disappeared. And his abandoned car was found at Scherzinger Vitaparcours.
The suspect knew a lot about weapons.
It seems unlikely that she herself drove him there. There are some indications that the police also assume that the woman was murdered at her home in Bottighofen. At least local residents report that the basement and laundry room were sealed so they were looking for traces there. Investigators also asked residents if they had heard gunshots.
The suspect is known to be an amateur marksman and has also been a member of the Kreuzlingen shooting club for two years. There they confirm that he came to train from time to time. The motive for the horrific act was the victim’s rental debts, the “Blick” suspects. The landlady is said to have aggression and alcohol problems.
Was the car parked in Scherzingen to cover the tracks?
One possible scenario would be for the suspect to drive the corpse in his car into the Egnach forest and dump it there. However, the location of the body parts is about 20 kilometers from Vitaparcours, where the car was discovered and from where the arrested woman hitchhiked to Bottighofen. However, the fact that the two sites are not identical could have been done with the intention of the perpetrator to cover up the traces.
Investigations have progressed very quickly
So far, the investigations have progressed very quickly: on December 5 the body parts were discovered, and on December 11, the landlady was arrested after the search of the house. The woman has been detained ever since. Marco Breu, media spokesman for the Thurgau prosecutor’s office, says:
“There are currently no indications of other people involved in the homicide.”
However, this cannot be ruled out at this initial stage of the procedure. Breu does not want to comment on whether investigators have now found all the remains. He says:
“The situation found in particular has to do with the knowledge of the perpetrator, so we have not yet provided any information.”
The Prosecutor’s Office wants to provide more information on the findings of the criminal investigation next week.
Urgent appeal of the prosecutor
According to current knowledge, the 54-year-old suspect had an unknown driver hitchhiking on October 29, 2020 during the day from the Vitaparcours parking lot in Scherzingen, which is on the connecting road between Schönenbaumgarten and Bottighofen. During this trip, the suspect sat in the back seat and got off again at Bottighofen on Hauptstrasse, near the Raiffeisenbank. Unknown driver is urged to report to Thurgau Canton Police on 058-345-22-22.
She hardly knew the neighbors
The apartment building at Bottighofer Hauptstrasse does not have directly adjacent houses. The Gasthaus Bären, which is currently being renovated, is the next building. This also appears to have influenced contact with neighbors. A woman who lives next door says:
‘I can’t say exactly who lives there. But they are a bit strange people. “
In summer, when I was sitting outside, I would listen to something from time to time. In winter, the house was mostly quiet. Another resident says: “They are quite closed people. I have not seen them often. “Even people who pass by the house often claim that they have never heard anything unusual from inside.” I read about the body found, but did not know that the victim lived here, “says another passerby.
