The FIS has made a proposal for the 2020/21 World Cup calendar. Five Swiss destinations are planned as host.
Due to the current situation around the coronavirus, the international ski association FIS has been working intensively on a new World Cup calendar together with national associations and organizers in recent weeks. In the Alpine area, the following 5 stations are provisionally planned in Switzerland:
- 5th / 6th December: Women in St. Moritz
- January 8-10: Men in Adelboden
- Jan 15-17: Men in Wengen
- 23/24 January: Women in Crans-Montana
- March 17-21: World Cup final in Lenzerheide
Davos’s return to the Alpine World Cup was postponed for a year. The premiere of the side event for both genders, scheduled for January 1, 2021, will now only take place on January 1, 2022. This is because the entourage of men and women of the World Cup will travel separately within a separate “bubble” due to the crown in the next season.
The FIS Council will finalize the new Alpine World Cup calendar in early October.
