An Asian coffee trend is currently conquering Europe. Dalgona coffee is celebrated as the drink of the hour on social networks. Are you curious This is how a Dalgona goes.
Do you miss the macchiato café con leche of your favorite coffee in times of Corona? Against withdrawal symptoms, the Federal Center for Nutrition (BZfE) recommends a Dalgona coffee and explains how you can make yourself the hottest drink in Asia.
The name Dalgona comes from a South Korean coffee-flavored sweet. The recipe is based on “café Phenti Hui” (“smoothie coffee”). For brewing, soluble coffee, also called instant coffee or coffee extract, is mixed with sugar and hot water.
You can do this with a hand mixer, milk frother, whisk, or simply with a spoon. Two tablespoons per ingredient is enough for one serving. When opened, a creamy dough is created, which changes its color from dark brown to a warm caramel hue.
Then two-thirds of a glass is filled with warm milk and covered with the fluffy coffee foam. If desired, you can sprinkle the cream with a little cinnamon or cocoa powder.
On hot days, the decorative foam simply comes with cold milk. On even hotter days, two or three ice cubes are added and an iced coffee is ready. Instead of milk, you can also use a vegetable alternative such as almond or coconut drink.
