Hirschi makes a solid season debut
Marc Hirschi started the season in the Tour of Catalonia. In his first outing for his new UAE Emirates team, the Bernese reached the finish line of the 178-kilometer first stage, starting and finishing in Calella on the main field. With a gap of 16 seconds, he finished 23rd. Sébastien Reichenbach finished 52nd with the same time and the victory of the day was ensured by the Danish Andreas Kron, who prevailed in the sprint ahead of the Spanish Luis León Sánchez and the French Rémy Rochas.
