Basel-Stadt has already closed its restaurants, now the Federal Council hopes that other cantons will follow suit. But Ticino and Thurgau initially rely on other restrictions.
About 9,800 new corona virus infections have been reported to the Federal Office of Public Health since Friday. That is more than 1000 cases more than last weekend. A slight increase was already visible on Friday, this after the number of cases had declined for several weeks and recently stabilized at a high level. It would still be premature to speak of a clear trend reversal. But the development is worrying.
