The ski resorts are shaking because of the Christmas business. This can only be saved if the number of cases falls drastically, otherwise a third wave is to be feared. Furthermore, there is enormous pressure from the EU and neighboring countries on Switzerland to finally reduce the number of infections. To achieve this, the Graubündner government is taking measures: Among other things, it has been decided to “close the restaurants Friday, December 4, 2020; 11 pm close, ”he says in a confidential letter to the industry.

This is justified in the internal letter as follows: “The evolution of the number of cases has only slightly decreased in Switzerland in recent days. This is mainly due to the decrease in infections in the French-speaking cantons. In several German-speaking cantons, especially in Graubünden, the number of infections is increasing slightly or is stable at a high level. The average number of views in Graubünden is 1.02. However, this value should be even higher. Graubünden thus has the fourth highest number of views in Switzerland. According to the Federal Office of Public Health, the number of reproductions should be below 0.7 “.

The hospitality of hotel guests in the hotel’s own establishments is excluded from these regulations. This regulation will initially apply for 14 days.

It is also allowed to keep the delivery and distribution of food at home open until 10 p.m., take-out counters until 10 p.m. and restaurants that are connected to the hotel facilities, but only for hotel guests.

With these measures, Graubünden is following the example of the canton of Valais, which was able to greatly reduce the number of cases. However, the problem with increasing crown numbers is not limited to Graubünden, but applies to almost all of German-speaking Switzerland. Therefore, it is expected that Federal Councilor Alain Berset will announce new measures to contain the corona pandemic in Switzerland tomorrow Friday.
