Due to three corona cases after an event, authorities are discussing whether it is necessary to tighten the regulations.
300 people celebrated last Saturday at a party in Friltschen in Thurgau. The cantonal medical service is now aware of three new Covid infections related to the event, announced the Department of Pandemics of the Canton of Thurgau.
The organizer had already informed guests by email during the week that the coronavirus had been detected in a person who had attended the event. Since other visitors have tested positive, the canton’s medical service has ordered a quarantine for all those invited to the celebration with immediate effect.
Quarantine until October 6
The visitors were informed Thursday night that they had to go into quarantine. This lasts 10 days from the date of the event, and therefore until Tuesday, October 6. Furthermore, those affected will be contacted shortly by the Thurgau canton contact tracing team.
The event is the “Chlööpf dii wäg !!” of the association “Plöööree-Team”. According to the Thurgau authorities, people who have attended the event should immediately be quarantined.
First big case in Thurgau
According to the head of the Thurgau Health Office, Karin Frischknecht, there has not yet been a comparable case in Thurgau canton: “It is the first case of this size where we have to quarantine a large number of people.” .
The organizer’s concept of protection seems serious and from today’s point of view he has not made any mistakes, says Frischnkecht: “With a mask requirement, the cases could certainly have been minimized.” The Thurgau Canton Pandemic Department will now address the question of whether there is a need to tighten regulations for events in Thurgau.
