Billiard professional Alexander Ursenbacher defeated the reigning world champion 6: 5 in the UK Championship.
Alexander Ursenbacher caused a sensation at the UK Championship in Milton Keynes. The Swiss pro defeated current world champion Ronnie O’Sullivan in the second round. Ursenbacher won against the billiard legend 6: 5.
The 24-year-old from Ursenbach put him face to face with perhaps the greatest billiard player of all time at 2-0. Last year, the Swiss had already defeated the English at the Welsh Open.
Strong nerves Ursenbacher in the 11th frame
Ursenbacher took the lead 2-0 and then 4-2 in the best-of-11 game, before O’Sullivan took the lead with 3 straight 5: 4 wins in his favor. But the world number two made a mistake in the 10th frame, which Ursenbacher (number 66) was able to use to make it 5: 5.
In the “Decider”, Ursenbacher presented a break of 47 after a nice rookie and a few minutes later he brought the frame and the game closer.
The UK Championship is one of the top 3 tournaments of the year.
