The EU Commission wants to present the bill for a “digital green passport” on March 17, which will register corona vaccines, Covid diseases and negative tests. The goal is to find a safe way to remove restrictions and travel in Europe.
According to the European regional director of the WHO, Hans Kluge, the introduction of a vaccination pass, which has been announced for the summer, is probably inevitable, but not a recommendation of the WHO. It is uncertain how long an immunity will last, Kluge said in a preliminary report in the German daily “Die Welt.”
Vaccination evidence is not conclusive enough
A vaccine also cannot necessarily prevent infection in other people, said the WHO Regional Director. In his opinion, the corona pandemic will end in about ten months.
That would not mean the virus would go away, but no further interventions would be needed, Kluge told the newspaper.
WHO gives hope: “The pandemic ends in early 2022”
Kluge expects the corona pandemic to be over in about ten months. Assume that 2021 will be another Covid year, 2020 will have been “Terra Incognita”. “A year later we know much more. So I assume that the pandemic will end in early 2022. “Which does not mean that the virus is gone.” But hopefully there will be no more disruptive interventions. “(SDA)
