In Turkey, the number of new corona infections has peaked for the second day in a row. A total of 40,806 tests came back positive, as announced by the Health Ministry on Thursday night. The number passed the 40,000 mark for the first time. In addition, 176 deaths related to Covid-19 were recorded in 24 hours.
The Turkish medical association TTB sounded the alarm in view of the rapid increase in numbers: “The intensive care beds are full,” said its president, Sebnem Korur Fincanci, of the German press agency. Finding a place in the hospital is “very difficult.”
The country of 82 million people partially lifted the crown’s restrictions in early March; the number of cases has increased rapidly since then. Therefore, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had announced new measures on Monday, such as exit restrictions during the weekend in certain regions. There should be more restrictions on the fasting month of Ramadan, which begins in mid-April. (SDA)
