Department of Finance and Health • On Saturday, those responsible for tracing contacts were informed about an employee of a nursery in Näfels (municipality of Glarus Nord) who tested positive and does not live in the Glarus region. 47 children and 20 caregivers are in quarantine.

Parents were informed by SMS to isolate their children and wait for more information. After more supervisors were tested, an email was sent out on Monday. Of the 8 caregivers screened for coronavirus, 2 are positive and 2 negative. Four test results are pending.

47 young children between 0 and 4 years old are in quarantine and in the care of their parents or caregivers. 20 caregivers at KiTa who had contact with the children are also quarantined or isolated in case of infection.

Follow up contacts: the situation is tense

The Glarus Canton contact tracing team has more and more cases to deal with. Queries increase disproportionately. Resources are constantly expanding, but still barely enough to overcome major challenges. Affected people are informed as soon as possible by SMS, phone call or email so that the chains of contagion can continue to be broken.
