Jacques Reymond died at the age of 70. Erika Hess’s husband and former coach worked for the Swiss Ski Association for many years.
According to a report from the Swiss Ski Association, former Swiss ski coach Jacques Reymond died at the age of 70 as a result of the coronavirus.
Vaudois served as the head coach and technical coach for men between 1979 and 1995 and for a longer period as a condition coach for women at Swiss-Ski. For women, she oversaw multiple world champion and World Cup overall winner Erika Hess, whom she married in 1988, a year after her resignation.
A great ambassador for Swiss skiing.
One of his best sporting moments during the era with Maria Walliser, Michela Figini and Hess was the World Cup in Crans-Montana, where the Swiss won all 5 gold medals.
Even after his time with the National Ski Association, Reymond made a strong commitment to skiing, for example by organizing youth runs and camps with Hess, or accompanying athletes on their way to work after their sports career. He was also involved in politics, most recently as President of the St-Légier Town Hall.
