But now there is an urgent warning against a certain protective mask. Affected is the 7-month protective mask “Viral Project” from the manufacturer Media Chain Products in sizes M and L in black. The company announced that the highly toxic ingredient aniline was discovered during testing.
Media Chain Products GmbH took the mask off the sale and began a worldwide recall. The product was offered online and at the large German pharmacy Müller.
Serious side effects are possible with poisoning.
The discovered toxic liquid aniline is a clear, colorless to slightly yellowish oily liquid and is considered an intermediate in organic chemistry. It is used, among other things, as a raw material for the production of paints and synthetic fibers.
And aniline is dangerous for humans! Headaches and dizziness can occur in case of poisoning. However, the side effects also extend to life-threatening problems with consciousness and shortness of breath. If the mentioned symptoms are found, the owners of this corona mask are advised to consult a doctor as soon as possible.
According to “HNA.de”, the return of the affected article should be possible at all Müller branches. The purchase price will also be refunded without presenting the receipt. It is not clear whether Swiss customers are affected as well. The company has not yet provided information on whether the protective mask was also available in branches or online stores in this country. (nim)
