America looks very bad in this pandemic. At no time was there control over the spread of the coronavirus, unlike in Switzerland or Europe. The president of the United States, Donald Trump (74), personally downplayed the dangers for months and still does not take the pandemic seriously.
The consequence? The United States is one of the most affected countries: the virus has so far killed more than 300,000 people. The number of victims increases by 3000 (!) People every day.
At the same time, millions of Americans have lost their jobs and, often, their health insurance. A total of eight million people have slipped below the poverty line since March. In concrete terms: today, more Americans than they have suffered from hunger since World War II.
And help? Washington’s Congress has been inactive since the spring rescue package. In the “House of the People” the parties have been fighting for months without helping the “People” they really represent.
Vaccine in all 50 states
But now, finally, there is something positive to report in relation to the United States pandemic: the vaccine is not only there, it is already being injected, and throughout the country every second! Nurse Sandra Lindsay was the first American woman to receive the Covid-19 vaccine on Monday.
Millions of cans were transported to all parts of the country on the same day. On Tuesday, all 50 states had access to the long-awaited miracle drug. The vaccination marathon has been running at full speed ever since; meanwhile, in almost all other countries, including Switzerland, they are still awaiting approval or delivery.
Trump administration project: a success
The Trump administration’s “Operation Warp Speed” is exemplary. So far, more than $ 18 billion has been invested in various candidate vaccines. The initial goal of starting vaccinations by the end of the year was achieved thanks to a non-bureaucratic process. The vast majority of scientists, including the highly respected one in the United States, Dr. Anthony Fauci (79), found this historic rapid development of a vaccine in nine months unrealistic.
It is questionable whether the project can now reach its second goal, 300 million doses of vaccines by January. But experts, media and politicians on both sides agree: “Operation Warp Speed” is a success!
Smart vaccine investment strategy
The vaccine that has now been approved is also an American success story, albeit with help from Germany. The product was developed by the New York pharmaceutical company Pfizer in collaboration with Biontech of Mainz. In a first step, the US insured 100 million cans. Because it requires two shots per person, that’s enough for just under a fifth of the population.
However, thanks to a clever investment strategy of “Operation Warp Speed” (a portfolio of six promising vaccine candidates has been assembled), replenishments should follow soon. The vaccine from the American pharmaceutical company Moderna could receive emergency approval this Friday. It means: 200 million more doses of vaccines are available in the United States.
Here’s How American Politicians Strengthen Vaccination Acceptance
The pandemic has not yet been resolved with the vaccine alone, which is also known in the United States. But there is hope: sales with private US companies such as FedEx or UPS have worked almost perfectly so far. The American vaccination campaign is also going well. According to polls, public acceptance has been increasing for weeks.
Scientists, celebrities and politicians from the two major parties are working hard to achieve this. Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom (53), for example, floods the social network TikTok with videos. The information about the vaccine, along with creative elements, had a great response from adolescents and young adults.
Meanwhile, Vice President Mike Pence (61) wants to get an effective vaccine for the media with his wife Karen (63) this Friday at the White House. “President-elect” Joe Biden (78) plans to do the same: increase public confidence in the vaccine. If acceptance of vaccination continues to rise in the United States, the likelihood that this pandemic in this country could end sooner rather than later increases.
Operation Warp Speed, the Pfizer vaccine, the vaccination campaign – we are finally living another American success story.
