On the shores of Lake Constance in Konstanz and Kreuzlingen, critics of Corona’s measures formed a human chain on Saturday afternoon. There were also counter-demonstrations.
There were large gatherings of people, especially on the Constance side in the area of ”Little Venice” on the lake. Some 60 left-wing protesters from the Kreuzlingen region also gathered there. They peacefully passed the human chain of Corona skeptics with banners.
“The Nazis come out – masks on” or “freedom of expression and basic rights yes – they tolerate right-wing extremists and ignore the protection of the health of others no,” it read on banners. The crown’s measures are likely to be controversially discussed, said organizer Charis Kuntzemüller from SP Kreuzlingen.
Extremist and racist groups would also act under the guise of the pandemic. The left is protesting against this. “We support state measures by the Federal Office of Public Health (BAG),” said Kuntzemüller of the Keystone-SDA news agency.
“Spread love, do not crown”
It also sympathizes with the more than 20 citizen initiatives of Constanza, who demonstrated for Corona’s measures under the slogan “Spread love, not Corona.” On the German side of the border, several hundred people passed the human chain of Corona skeptics, accompanied by a police presence.
A total of around 30 concentrations have been approved in Constance and Kreuzlingen for Saturday and Sunday. The city of Konstanz has several thousand people. Constance police and Thurgau canton police are at the scene with large numbers.
