The home office is once again common in Switzerland. In December, 33 percent of employees in the industrial sector worked from home, and in the service sector it was 43 percent.
This was the result of a survey of around 250 companies as part of PMI’s monthly economic survey, which was conducted by Credit Suisse and the Procure.ch industry association and released on Monday.
More people in the home office again
In the industry, according to the information, almost as many employees worked from home as in March and April, and about twice as many as in summer and fall.
In the services sector, the current value is between the high of Corona in spring (53 percent) and the low in fall (29 percent).
Less working hours in the industrial sector
There are big differences between the two sectors in terms of short-time work. In the industry this is falling. Industrial companies surveyed stated that in December, an average of nine percent of the workforce was still working short-time, according to the statement.
Significantly higher values were recorded in autumn (14 percent) and at the height of the crisis in spring (28 percent).
In the services sector, a short-time work rate of eight percent was recorded. That was significantly less than in spring (32 percent), but also slightly more than in fall (six percent). (SDA)
