The question has sparked controversy: Why was the Covid pandemic rampant in French-speaking Switzerland in late October than in German-speaking Switzerland?

The opposite appears to be true, as an analysis of data from the task force published on Wednesday shows: In French-speaking Switzerland, the number of cases grew significantly more slowly between mid-September and late October than in German-speaking Switzerland. In the Lake Geneva region they increased by a factor of 15, in Ticino by a factor of 80 and in Central Switzerland by a factor of 40.
