Unusual find in Schaffhausen: Employees of a recycling company in Schaffhausen discovered a 450 kilogram explosive bomb while inspecting scrap metal being delivered.
Swiss Army specialists identified the bomb as a “diffuse” explosive bomb that had been used for training purposes.
After the find, the site was cordoned off and the ABC-KAMIR (Nuclear, Biological, Chemical, Munitions Disposal and Mine Clearance) Competence Center in Spiez (BE) reported the find.
It is unclear where the bomb came from and why it was scrapped and is now under investigation.
The bomb will now be disposed of properly, Schaffhausen police announced on Wednesday. At no time was there any danger to the population.
