On 10-11 October there are no trams between Barfüsserplatz and Schifflände. The reason for this is construction work.
On the weekend of October 10-11, tram traffic in the center of Basel between Barfüsserplatz and Schifflände will be closed. The reason is the renovation of the slopes in Falknerstrasse.
The busy stretch at the bottleneck of the Basel tram network will be closed from 1.30am on Saturday until the end of operations on Sunday, as announced on Friday by Basler Verkehrs-Betriebe (BVB). During the total closure, there will be detours along the entire tram network. With the exception of lines 3 and 10, all tram lines would operate on a different route.
The reason for the closure is the renovation of the tram tracks at the northern end of Barfüsserplatz. According to the announcement, the rails have reached the end of their useful life. To keep the interruption as short as possible, they work three shifts.
