(mg) Starting Tuesday, the Swiss Freedom Movement (FBS) will collect signatures for its initiative “For freedom and physical integrity (stop vaccination)”. She wrote that in an invitation to an event. “We want to more firmly anchor the freedom of citizens in the federal constitution, so that everyone can decide freely and without fear if they want to be vaccinated or if they want to be provided with a chip,” it says on the FBS home page.

According to the announcement, Lucerne SVP national councilor Yvette Estermann, comedian Marco Rima and vaccination critic Daniel Trappitsch belong to the initiative committee, which had already held the referendum against the epidemic law. On the home page, FBS is confident that it will be able to present the initiative by the end of 2021. Anyone who starts a referendum has 18 months to collect the 100,000 signatures required.

With the current Epidemic Law, a limited vaccination requirement is possible. However, cantons can only do this if public health is in serious danger and the population cannot be protected by other measures. Furthermore, an obligation can only be issued for precisely defined groups of people and must be lifted as soon as there is no longer any significant risk. However, no one can be vaccinated against their will.

The Federal Council and the Federal Office of Public Health have stressed several times that there will certainly be no mandatory vaccination due to the corona pandemic.
