A little later, about 20 firefighters moved, also in the canton of St. Gallen. In Nesslau Township, shortly after 7:30 p.m. in Stein district, a burner in a Chinoise fondue pan caught fire while being refilled. Those present put it in the kitchen sink, so the drain also caught fire due to the leakage of fuel paste. No one was injured, material damage remained. Those present put out the fire themselves. According to police, the firefighters were able to return to their own Christmas party soon after.

The fire brigade also had to move to Aargau on Christmas Eve. A reporter from Reader BLICK reports on the burning of a Christmas tree in Anglikon Township. The Kapo confirms the mission. However, it was not a tree that caught fire, but the chimney of a house. No one was injured.
Freiburg, house fire
Last night the police and fire brigade intervened in a fire in an empty building in the city of Freiburg. At the moment it is not yet clear if the cause of the fire is related to the Christmas celebrations. An investigation is ongoing. Early Friday morning, around 1:50 a.m., a third person reported flames coming from the roof of an old house on Avenue de Beauregard. The alarmed fire brigade at the Freiburg base was able to control the fire in the currently empty building and prevent it from spreading to neighboring houses. For security reasons, 11 people were evacuated from an adjoining apartment building and taken to safety at a TPF restaurant near the Freiburg train station. Shortly after 4 a.m. this morning, all the residents were able to return to their homes.
