Chase at the Tour de Ski – Cologna loses some time, but remains in the race – sport

• Dario Cologna finished the third stage of the Tour de Ski in Val Müstair in sixth place.
• In the general standings, he is now 1:34 minutes behind leader Alexander Bolschunow, who wins the chase with ease.
• After the rest day on Monday, the Ski Tour will continue on Tuesday in Toblach.

Dario Cologna suffered a small setback in the 3rd stage of the Tour de Ski. The 34-year-old from Graubünden, second on the podium the day before, fell from fourth to sixth in the overall standings. The gap to leader Alexander Bolschunow is now 1:34 minutes. The Russian won the 15km skating chase in sovereign fashion.

Cologne has to get it out

Shortly before the middle of the race, Cologna had to let go of his Russian partner Artem Maltsew. Münstertal could not maintain its 3rd intermediate rank.

Frenchman Maurice Manificat and the two Russians Denis Spitsow and Ivan Jakimuschkin, who had the best legs in the final kilometers, rushed from behind. Cologna, on the other hand, was unable to keep up with the fast pace it started at the beginning.

Candide Pralong delivered another strong run, which improved by 6 places to 19th place. Jonas Baumann also held up well for a long time and only lost touch on the last lap. He was at 22. With Beda Klee (28th), another Swiss made the top 30.

After the start of 3 days in Val Müstair, the cross-country skiers have a rest day on Monday. The Ski Tour will continue on Tuesday in South Tyrol. Two distance races are held in Toblach before the entourage continues to Val di Fiemme.
