It was a dramatic final phase in the duel between Gladbach and Inter. In the 83rd minute, Alassane Pléa scored the supposed 3: 3 tie. However, the goal was later disallowed because Breel Embolo (from minute 70) was very thin on offside, and probably irritated Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic.
Matteo Darmian (17th) had led the guests in the lead with the kind help of Gladbach goalkeeper Yann Sommer. The goalkeeper of the Swiss team was trapped between the legs. The Milanese showed a significant improvement compared to the last duels against Real Madrid and easily took the draw against Pléas (45 + 1). Romelu made Lukaku 3-1 until the 73rd minute thanks to a double, before Pléa cut short shortly after, and then narrowly missed the hat trick.
The “Nerazurri” win in the fifth group match for the first time and in next week’s match, like all the other teams in Group B, they still have a chance to qualify for the second round.
Real with the next misfortune
Real Madrid also took the cup in the second game with Shakhtar Donetsk. After the Spaniards had already lost the “first leg” at home 2: 3, they are now left empty-handed in unknown territory. Dentinho (57th) and Manor Solomon (82nd) mercilessly punished two oversights by the guests.
La Real was only able to radiate danger in front of the opposing goal at the start of the game with the shame 0-2. Marco Asensio had the best scoring opportunity when he missed the post in the 4th minute.
