FC Aarau celebrate their second Challenge League victory of the season in Schaffhausen. The 2: 1 falls shortly before the end.
After an attempted shot by Elsad Zverotic, it was Filip Stojilkovic who moved exactly to the right in the penalty area and gave the ball the decisive change of direction. Schaffhausen goalkeeper David Da Costa was unable to do anything in the 89th minute to prevent the goal from the final score 1: 2.
Deserved victory for Aarau
Shortly before, it looked like the hosts would get a point after a streak performance. Rodrigo Pollero equalized with a remarkable header in the 84th minute. But this shouldn’t be enough.
Aargauer was the best team during long stretches and took the lead at 50 minutes with an own goal from Francisco Rodríguez.
Thanks to the victory in Schaffhausen, Aarau is tied with the FCS in terms of points and is in fifth place. On Tuesday there will be 4 more matches from the 5th round in the Challenge League.
