As the Lucerne police wrote in a message, they were able to arrest a thief in Kriens LU early Thursday morning, with the help of the police dog Capo (8). The 29-year-old had previously stolen a car in Zurich and was on his way to Lucerne. The thief was driving under the influence of cocaine and did not have a valid driver’s license.
His thieves tour continued in the canton of Lucerne. He stole a total of three high-quality mountain bikes in previously unknown locations. Then he wanted to drive back to Zurich on the A2 motorway.
Backed out of the tunnel
When the perpetrator learned that a police check was taking place in the Sonnenberg tunnel, he tried to avoid it. He stopped his vehicle and then exited the tunnel. Before escaping as an oncoming driver through the Kriens Expressway entrance, he turned the car and crashed into a railing.
He left the stolen vehicle and fled on foot. But the police dog Capo was faster: he followed the trail and grabbed the thief. (support)
