The beautiful summery weather attracted the population en masse last weekend. Applicable regulations were not followed in high traffic locations. The police had to divide a crowd and announce the rules with loudspeaker announcements.
Already on Saturday afternoon (May 9, 2020), police officers noticed a large number of people in public space. Numerous groups of people stayed, especially along the lake shore (Lake Zug and Lake Aegeri), as well as in public parks. The emergency services intervened again and again and held numerous briefings.
Saturday night, around 10:30 p.m. and when it started to rain, more than 200 people were in a confined space in the disaster bay in the city of Zug. Then the police separated the crowd through conversations and sent people home. Most were teenagers and young adults.
The same image emerged on Sunday afternoon (May 10, 2020). Among other things, more than 200 people stayed at the Brüggli spa in the city of Zug, including many families. The police in Zug repeatedly asked them with loudspeaker announcements to comply with the Covid regulation and to follow the distance rules. In addition, the operating forces held numerous information talks. As a result, the vast majority of those present left the site and the groups disbanded.
In this sense, the Zug police once again appeal to the population to continue to meet the requirements imposed by the Federal Council.
