Uri security department takes action and prohibits demonstration against applicable Corona measures in Altdorf. The rally would have taken place after Easter. 2000 people should have arrived.
The organizer of the rally is Urkantons Action Alliance. In a message, spokesman Josef Ender wrote on Thursday: “As the Uri police surprisingly announced today to the action alliance, the rally scheduled for April 10 at Altdorf UR will be banned entirely.”
“Danger of the occasion getting out of control”
In the ruling, the Security Directorate writes: “The most recent events with rallies, but especially the incidents at Liestal, clearly show how the obligation to wear a mask can no longer be enforced after a certain number of participants.”
Also in Altdorf it can be assumed that the mask requirement is “ignored by most of the rally participants”. Thus, there is “a justified risk that the cause will get out of control,” sums up the security department.
Appeal against the prohibition
The authorities’ decision found misunderstanding among the organizers. “There is no sufficient objective reason for this ban, it is a purely political decision to avoid creating a public for critics of the Crown measures.”
Action Alliance will file a complaint against the ban and reassess the situation, it says at the end of the communication.

Despite many violations of the crown: That is why the police did not intervene in Liestal BL(03:25)
After the demonstration at Liestal BL last weekend, the next rally was not a lucky star. Police spokesman Gustav Planzer told BLICK beforehand: “An event with 2,000 or more people also has an impact on public peace, order and security.”
A permit would only have been granted if the demonstration had not been contrary to the overriding public interests.
Apparently the opposite is happening now. The Security Directorate stated in the decision: “There is an immediate threat to public health and safety. If the recorded meeting were to take place, there would be a considerable risk of infection for participants, police officers and third parties. “
There is also praise for the decision on the Internet. Proponents of the measures have already started a photo campaign under the hashtag #NoLiestal. Now they are joined by the hashtag #NoAltdorf.
