All of Switzerland was eagerly awaiting the new federal measures on Friday afternoon. Among other things, budget rules and restrictions in ski areas were discussed. However, neither of the two points will be implemented. The canton of Schaffhausen strongly expected the introduction of a budget rule. Since the federal government is not introducing this at the national level, the Schaffhausen government is now reacting on its own, as district president Martin Kessler puts it: “The current situation in the canton of Schaffhausen forces us to act.” Kessler is particularly addressing the capacity bottlenecks in the Schaffhausen hospitals. They had to transfer intensive care patients to other cantons.
In the RADIO TOP article, Schaffhausen District President Martin Kessler explains what measures will be applied in the future:

In restaurants, four people are still allowed to sit at a table, but from a maximum of two households. In private gatherings, ten people will still be allowed to meet here, but only from a maximum of two households. The measures apply from Sunday, December 6 at midnight and until Tuesday, December 22 at midnight.
This means that people from more than two households can meet again during the holidays. This is important for the government, says Martin Kessler: “It is very important that Christmas can be celebrated with the family.”
The canton is also closing several institutions, including gambling halls and casinos, museum interiors, cinemas, theaters, youth meeting places or bowling and billiards centers, as well as adult entertainment venues. Leisure facilities such as gyms, indoor swimming pools, dance studios, fitness and wellness centers, ice sports facilities and interiors of other sports facilities and stadiums will also be added. School sports classes for primary and secondary level I and for professional athletes are excluded from the closings.
Take-out establishments must stop operating between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m.
