On the fall holidays to Spain? Better not. New corona infections explode there. Spain is just one example of popular destinations that are currently classified as risk countries. And what is meant by forced quarantine when I return to Switzerland.
Because the quarantine regime changes every week, the Swiss depend on security. That is, holidays in your own country, as reported by real estate brokers, for example, electronic address. “There is the greatest confidence in Switzerland,” says Daniel Koller (40), director of the largest Swiss apartment and vacation home broker.
“Now our reservation platform is working.” In this country, people are intensively planning the fall holidays. “The situation remains fragile due to the international uncertainty,” Koller said in a press release. “So we assume there will be a golden autumn indoors.”
Swiss customers book on short notice
The number of holiday home reservations in the fall season is well above the previous year: for September (+106 percent), October (+ 56%) and November (+ 29%). “The situation looks even more promising because customers are booking less in advance,” says Koller. The normal is 120 days before, currently it is 80 days before the start of the holidays.
Very popular with the Swiss: the classic holiday cantons. Graubünden increases its market share by 30 percentage points. According to E-Domizil, the Bernese Oberland is growing by 12 percent and Ticino by 15 percent. “In times of the Corona crisis, the Swiss are rediscovering their own country because of the uncertainty about the threat of quarantine.”
That was already the case in summer. The brokerage platform had a record season compared to the previous year for rented vacation homes.
As in summer, in autumn there is a great demand for alpine pastures, alpine huts, farms and accommodation in protected buildings.

The campsites are also well reserved
Many campsites are currently extending their season due to strong demand. The largest field operator, TCS, has already recorded 13 percent more overnight stays than the previous year, despite opening late-season due to Corona.
A positive trend is emerging for the fall as well, the TCS announced Tuesday. Online reservations would be 120 percent higher than the previous year. That is why the TCS, and with it many other courses throughout Switzerland, is extending the season in some cases until early November. (aurochs)
