There was a major blackout in the city of Zurich on Thursday night. As the municipal electricity company (EWZ) said when asked, the districts of Wollishofen and Leimbach are affected.
“According to the first information, a transformer in a substation was closed for safety,” says an EWZ spokesman.
A short time later, EWZ reported on Twitter that the issue had to be changed. These should take 30 to 45 minutes.
It didn’t take that long. Power returned at 6:12 pm The EWZ publicly apologizes for the incident.
