The Russian oligarch is on a US sanctions list and is therefore overly sensitive as a customer of Swiss banks. You are now suing for your right to a Postfinance account.
Wealthy clients are welcome at all banks, you might think. But not the Russian billionaire Viktor Vekselberg. Since he got on a US sanctions list, many Swiss banks want nothing more to do with him. UBS and Credit Suisse froze their accounts. Postfinance also apparently wants to put the businessman who lives in Zug in front of the door, although the bank has a basic supply mandate. Vekselberg is now suing Postfinance for “continuation of the private account.” In two weeks there will be a trial in the Berne commercial court.
